Polomolok: 2016 8th Most Competitive Municipality in PH

cmci_logo

POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato –  For 3 consecutive years, Polomolok has been in the top 10 most competitive municipalities in the Philippines. It is an honor for us to be on those ranks and I personally think that we deserve that.

The cities and municipalities rankings are based on the 3 pillars as mandated by the National Competitiveness Council of the Philippines: Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency and Infrastructure. Furthermore, scores are determined by the values and the completeness of the data being submitted. Therefore, the higher the score of a city or a municipality, the more competitive it is.

The competitiveness are categorized into five (5):

Without further ado, I will focus more on the 1st to 2nd Class Municipalities category. See all of the categories here.

“First Class Municipalities are municipalities which have an average income of PhP 55,000,000 or more during the previous four (4) calendar years while Second Class Municipalities have a latest income of PhP 45,000,000 to PhP 54,999,999 during the previous four (4) calendar years.”

MML Grill now OPEN in Polomolok!

POLOMOLOK – MML Grill, a local burger joint from General Santos City is now in Polomolok! The main branch just started September of 2015 and since then they have attracted satisfied customers. And now, with the success they have reached in the Poland’s (nickname of Polomolok as referred by the locals) soil.

The MML Grill’s Facade

This branch’s facade is wide compared to its main branch at Camias St., General Santos City. They have lots of comfortable benches and tables that can be used for dine-in or awaiting customers for their takeaway. Since we are in Polomolok and due to its cool climate, you can never be uncomfortable waiting fo your order.

MML Grill’s American Classic Burger

I ordered their famous American Classic Burger for PhP 100.00, and all I can say is delicioso! When you order at the counter, the crew asked me on how will it be done on my patty as they offer medium rare and well-done cook for their patties so I chose well-done as I do not eat yet medium rare meats.

The American Classic Burger with a glass of Red Iced Tea

The cheese, catsup, onion rings and tomatoes are superb! It compliments well with the patty and the bun. The chips is quite disappointing (on my personal opinion) because I was expecting more chips. But its not a big deal for me, I was there not only for the food but also for the place and people.

The Freedom Wall

As I went inside, I noticed this ‘Freedom Wall’ where the customers wrote randomly on it.

      iWanderlust: Glan

GLAN, Sarangani – The coastal town of Glan is roughly 70 kilometers away from the city of General Santos. The town boasts its historical heritage and its beautiful beaches. It is one of the oldest towns in the Southern Mindanao.

It is a first class Municipality with a population of 106,518 having 31 rural barangays.

Let get to the point then, I went to Coco Beach Resort located at Barangay Gumasa. Since I was alone and I was not planning to get a cottage, so I did not brought my things out of my car. It was a super hot afternoon so I decided to daydream while waiting for the sun to be shrouded with the rainclouds.

      The Coco Beach Resort prices:

        • Entrance Fee – PhP 50.00* per person
        • Small Cottage – PhP 500.00
        • Big Cottage – PhP 1,000.00 up.to PhP 1,500.00

*if you chose not to stay in a cottage an additional fee of PhP 100.00 on top of the Entrance Fee.

They also offer private air-conditioned rooms for those who wants to stay overnight. (I wasn’t able to ask for the price)

      How to get there:

      • You can get there by a UV Epxress bound for Glan (Poblacion) from KCC Transport Terminal and on that point, you can hire a habal-habal on your way to Gumasa. The ETA from GenSan is around 60 to 90 minutes which depends from time to time.

      • You can also book a rent-a-car from General Santos and drive all the way to Gumasa. For more details visit their Facebook page or you can contact them at (+63) 0939 929 1067.
